Last Sunday a letter from Bishop Jane announcing my resignation as Dean of All Saints Anglican Cathedral was read. I am grateful for nine years as your rector and priest and to share in the Body of Christ in worship, outreach, prayer and education and for your love, support and prayers over the years. This is a decision I have been pondering for nearly a year and only recently made. I feel God has other plans for me in the future and after nine years I think the Cathedral will benefit from a change in leadership and the new ideas and energy that come with that.
My last Sunday is at the end of April and I look forward to living through Lent and celebrating Easter with all of you. You are all in my prayers as I know this is an anxious time for parishes. If you have any concerns about this please see me after church or contact me through the office.
Gracious God, we celebrate our past, rejoice in our present, we look forward with eager eyes to the future. We pray that You would continue to make Your love known among us. Give us a zeal for mission. Help us to look beyond our walls to those who do not know You. Make this church a blessing to those around us, and embolden us to move forward with strength toward what lies ahead.
