Rev. Ruth Sesink-Bott starts today as our new Vicar. Here’s a little blurb to get to know her.
Ruth grew up all over central Alberta, studied philosophy and theology in Ontario at the University of Toronto and the Institute for Christian Studies and has called Edmonton, particularly the Alberta Avenue neighbourhood, home for the last five years. Her and her husband of eleven years, Dawson, spend their spare time renovating their house, attempting to garden and biking around the city. She has worked in diverse ministry settings, from university chaplaincy to facilitating community for folks on the margins of our society. As a person who lives and ministers with a chronic illness she has come to care deeply about nurturing faith communities that not only make space, but celebrate and centre community members who live with physical, neural, and socioeconomic differences – acknowledging that we as a community aren’t whole until everyone is included and their voices and life story honoured. She is excited to be joining All Saints this September as Vicar and looks forward to joining in with the good work God is already doing in the parish.
