My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Please pray for the repose of the soul of Donald Moore, retired priest of the diocese, who died June 10, 2020, at the age of 94 years.
Don was ordained a deacon and priest in 1950, at Holy Trinity, Old Strathcona, by Bishop Walter Burch. After completing a curacy at All Saints’ and Holy Trinity, he served in the rural parishes of St. Mary’s and St. George’s, Jasper; St. Edmund’s, (Killam, Sedgewick, Lougheed); and St. George’s, Fort Saskatchewan. He was rector of St. Ambrose, Bridgetown, Barbados, before returning to Edmonton to serve for many years as an honorary assistant at All Saints’ Cathedral, and to lead Sunday services at the Churchill seniors residence in downtown Edmonton.
Please keep Don’s son Christopher and all the family in your prayers.
Loving and merciful God,
We entrust our brother Donald to your mercy.
You loved him greatly in this life; Now that he is freed from all its cares give him happiness and peace for ever.
The old order has passed away;
Welcome him into paradise
Where there will be no more sorrow,
No more weeping or pain,
But only peace and joy
With Jesus, Your Son,
And the Holy Spirit,
For ever and ever Amen.
May God bless you this day and always, +Jane
