Serving Christ by caring for one another is a valued part of life at the Cathedral, and this service happens in a multitude of ways.
Ministry Opportunities Serving the Wider Community:
- Belonging Centre (Tuesdays and Thursdays) - In partnership with Boyle Street Community Services, the Belonging Centre is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30am-12:30pm in the Winter months for people who want to connect with neighbours and have a safe, warm space to enter. Boyle Street staff is onsite for these events. Volunteers from All Saints' are also needed on an ongoing basis.
- Manna Market (Wednesdays) - The Manna Market offers low priced bags of fresh fruits and vegetables in the middle of downtown Edmonton each Wednesday at 2:00pm. Volunteers arrive in the morning to prepare the bags and assist with the sale in the afternoon.
- Community Breakfast (Thursdays) - Thursday Community Breakfasts (Mid-October – March) offers a simple breakfast of boiled eggs, ham, muffins, oatmeal, and fruit at 9:00am to our neighbours in the community. Volunteers are asked to commit to coming weekly or biweekly on Thursdays from 8:30am-10:30am mid-October till the end of March.
Ministry Opportunities Within the Church:
- Sunday Morning Volunteer Roles - Reading scripture, offering prayers, serving at the altar, providing or setting up refreshments following the services, helping to maintain the building, singing in the choir, assisting with children's programs, preparing the altar for Sunday services and many other things!
The church is never about one person functioning alone, and we are so grateful for all who participate and share of their time and energy here at the Cathedral. If you would like to be a part of serving at All Saints’ Cathedral, please contact the church office and we will be glad to connect with you.
All volunteers working with children or other vulnerable populations will be required to complete the Diocesan Safe Church training and adhere to the practices of the Safe Church program. These volunteers must also have been part of our community for at least 12 months. For more information about the Diocesan Safe Church policy, please click HERE.
